Question
Posted by: Sally | 2010/03/08

Is my condition (previous DVT) a PMB?

In 2002 I had a spontaneous DVT. I''m now pregnant and have been advised to take Clexane. My medical aid scheme is not covering the cost of this medication, and I want to ask if this ''condition'' is a PMB? I am only taking Clexane because I am pregnant, I would not normally be taking it.
Thanks,
Sally

Hallo Sally
Not that I can see, but I wonder if your doctor should not write a motivation letter to your medical aid, as it is logical with your history to try and prevent DVT?
