Iriitating cough

My 6yr old has an irritating cough mostly at night. I give her rinex in the day and the parmacist said I should give her Pholtex at night so that she can have a good night sleep. She has no other symtoms. I have given her an extra pillow to sleep on. I''m actually starting to think it''s a habit. If someone else in the house coughs she also coughs. I know she is not getting a good night sleep and I certainly am not. Any advise?

Hallo Shelly
A child with a dry barking cough at night may have asthma triggered by the cold air - rather let your doctor have a look at her chest. A x/ray or lung function test may be needed.
