Iodine

Please help. My husband use to eat crayfish and he never showed sings of allergy. Then he had a kidney stone and they put an iodine drip on him. He immediately showed an allergy reaction. Now we' re not sure if he can still eat crayfish? As he never used to be allergic to it.
