Introducing our dog children to 1st baby

Hi doc

We have 2 mini dauchunds, 2sisters, 6 yrs old. They play a huge role in our house, sleep in our room in their own bed and go with on holidays or get babysitter. One problem, they don' t like little children, don' t know why, maybe because they don' t get exposed to children that much.
We had a visit from people the other day with a 6 month old girl, she sat on her mother' s lap the entire time, mostly very quite.
Our 2 was sitting with us on the coach like always. We didn' t reached out to the girl and neither did she but the dogs growled at her. Very upsetting.
I am expecting our first and don' t know how they will react to the new baby and also how will we handle the situation.
Hope you can help. Many thanks

Dear Inge

You should speak to somebody on how to get them down on the pecking order and slowly get them used to children. Not sleeping in your room, not allowed on couches etc... Seek the advice of a behaviourist in your area.
