Hi doc, what is the purpose of a papsmear and why is this necessary. How long is a normal period and how possible is it to bebe pregnant and still get your period. And can depo still be in your system if you stoped but immediately went on the pill 1yr and 6months ago. Period was regular every month with the pill. Stop taken the pill in May now can''t keep track with it.

Pap smears are there to pick up early cancerous changes in the cervix at a time when they can be treated.
Periods cycles can range from 21-35 days. Pregnancy with normal periods would be unlikely.It can take up to 3 months after stoping the Pill for periods to return to normal. If this persists, you should see your gynae.
