Incontinence of intestinal gas

What causes gas incontinence? Is surgery required?

I don' t think I have piles but I do believe I may have a degree of prolapse due to a problem I had years ago with chronic constipation. I have finally overcome this condition but now have a problem with gas incontinence when I walk.
