Important Question!!!

Hi there

If a couple is going through a custody battle and there is a FA involved..the FA decides that its better for the child to live with his mother, because of certain reasons, if the father decided to dispute that and rather take a Psychologist opinion, who he/she be able to know which parent is being sencere?? because despite all the evidence that the mother is not capable of looking after the child, the Family Advocate still feels that the child should be with the mother because the child is closer to her...he would be closer because he gets what ever he wants there, accept for being looked after, lets just say that all she is responsible for is providing the FUN!!! So she knows how to get the child on her side....Can the Psychologist see through her evil ways??

We cant let her win on lies, just not right for that child.

A skilled psych who actually interviews both parents might be able to make a well-informed opinion as to what's going on, working this out between what each parent is claiming. If there is EVIDENCE that the mother is not able to look after the child properly, the psych and the court would surely take that seriously. And a psych ought to recognize that sometimes a parent effectively bribes a child by gining them stuff and fun and avoiding the necessary discipline and structure.

Ask on the Divorce Support and Divorce Expert forums. It is important to use a psychologist who is accepted by the FA.
