Dear Bovern,

Your experience is not uncommon at all. The hymen, which is the skin referred to as the "physical virginity" of women often has been severed earlier in their lives due to anything such as rough sports or using a tampon. Even if this has not been the case, for some women the hymen is quite thin and severs without much pain or discomfort.

The information provided does not constitute a diagnosis of your condition. You should consult a medical practitioner or other appropriate health care professional for a physical exmanication, diagnosis and formal advice. Health24 and the expert accept no responsibility or liability for any damage or personal harm you may suffer resulting from making use of this content.
