Hyperthyriodism

My doctor says that I' ve got an over active thyroid, but I' m overweight. Why do I then pick up weight instead of losing?

Dear Ursula

Thank you for visiting health24.com.

I recommend that you re-visit your doctor and ask him/her to re-evaluate the results of the blood tests. It will also be a good idea to repeat the tests, as well as having a blood glucose test done.

Usually, with Hyperthyroidism, you should loose weight dramatically.

Kind regards

Dr Anrich Burger
