Dear Tutu
The SA Food Tables do not list brand names of cider. The average values for cider are 157 kJ or 37,4 kcal per 100 ml. These values are for a cider that contains 2.9% w/w alcohol. If the Hunters Export product had a higher alcohol content then it would provide more kcal or kJ. It also depends on how many ml of cider you drink at a sitting. If the Hunters cider does have an alcohol content of 2.9% w/w and an energy content of 157 kJ or 37.4 kcal per 100 ml then it is probably an alcoholic drink with one of the lowest energy contents available. The average energy content listed for beer with an alcohol content of 3.6% is 172 kJ or 41 kcal per 100 ml.
