how to locally anaesthetize tongue only for rare special cases?

HI
We have a case here that have a very sensitive tongue,
she can' t withstand any dental instrument to enter her mouth... she have an emetic feeling, that she wanna vomit... she suffers from oral drugs as well... she' s about 60 years old
She have many problems in her teeth that she wanna fix... but she can' t accept any impression material as i explained because of her tongue sensitivity.. she can' t open her mouth longer than 2 minutes with a dentist...
Doctors said there' s a drug that anaesthetize the tongue with lower jaw and muscles... which will in turn affect negatively impression results so they are desperate from this case....
What i' m thinking about is to locally anaesthetize her tongue only... but i don' t know any medication have this effect... DO U??? or do u have any other solutions???
please this is so urgent
NB: if u want any extended information about the case just inform me
I' ll be so grateful if i get a reply
Thank u

Hi Mark

An oral gel called DYNEXAN is an effective for local use, while some oral solutions such as cepacaine may also help.
