How long

Hi, I would like to know how long does it take for an HIV virus to be detected after the first infection? Please anyone who knows.

the gold standard test is the eliza test which should be done 4 weeks after exposure. if negative, this should be repeated at 3months and again at 6months.
the dna-pcr test can be done at 14days after exposure but should be confirmed by doing the eliza test at 4 weeks.
remember that there is the window period of incubation so an initial negative test should be repeated 8-12weeks later.
