Dear Almost Mad
According to the label of Lays potato chips, 30g of these chips contains 668 kJ and 10,8 g of fat, while 30 g of wholewheat bread (2 slices) contain 279 kJ and 0,63 g of fat - a great difference with the wholewheat bread being the much healthier option because it has such low energy and fats content. Crisps and other snacks foods are loaded with fat and have an exceptionally high energy content, which is the reason why it is advisable to avoid them when you are trying to slim. 100g wholewheat bread contains 930 kJ and 2.1g of fat, while 100g of meat pie contains 1705 kJ and 29,3 g of fat. Once again the bread is the healthier option esp if you are trying to lose weight. Commercial meat pies and sausage rolls are also very high in fat which increases their energy content accordingly.
