Our expert says:
If a person drinks large quantities of water he/she may to a certain extent prevent feelings of hunger and therefore, eat less food which causes weightloss. But overdoing water intake is also not a good idea, because it can lead to electrolyte imbalances which can be dangerous (sometimes even fatal) and may cause water retention which will make the person weight more again. The temperature of the water does not affect the reaction, but it is probably less chilly to drink warm water in winter!
In the final analysis it is the reduction of energy intake by eating less and/or increase in energy output by doing exercise, that make people lose weight.
