Hiccups

Hi Dr

I am around 4 weeks pregnant and am experiencing hiccups . what is this caused from and how can I prevent it .

It is not caused by the pregnancy, but due to overstimulation of the diaphragm - carbonated cooldrinks or a big piece of food can cause it. Try sipping ice water or pinching your nose closed and blowing against it?
