Hiatius Hernia

I have a hiatius hernia which was diagnosed ±  7 years ago. I take Lanzaloc 30mg every day for heartburn. Should I have a follow up gastroscopy or is it safe to stay long term on the Lanzaloc.
Thanks

Hallo Jean
It is safe to stay on Lanzaloc and you don't specifically need a follow up gastroscopy unless you have stomach ache or increasing symptoms of acid reflux. Most hiatus hernias are treated with PPI's (like Lanzaloc) long term and only operated if complications develop or medication is ineffective
