Hernia

Hi
Our three year mixed breed cat has what I think is a hernia and I can''t get him to a vet yet for a while. Is this painful ? What can I do to help until I get him to a vet ? Thanks

Hi Zia

Abdominal hernia's are generally not painful. We usually see them in kittens and generally repain the defect in the abdominal wall at time of neutering/spaying. As long as you can reduce the hernia then there is no immediate danger.
