hematoma ?

My son is 14 yrs old, and have for years 1/2 pea size lumps on its shin under the skin (4 lumps). you can move it around. our GP checked it out last year, saying that is like a hematoma, he must have injured his shin some or other time, the lumps is not sore. but now suddendly without any incident this lump changed into like a solid mass under skin, lumps are gone but it looks the same as if you bumped the shin and there is the bump but more flat like. it is not sore but strange. do you think it is something to worry about. must i take him back to the doctor

Hi Amanda
It is difficult to guess what it could be without seeing it - it could be dermatofibroma, which are harmless, but maybe you should ask your doctor to refer him to a surgeon so that they can just do a biopsy on the one that changed to be sure.
