I have been on ritalin for 20 years. Is this bad?

Not necessarily. But what is needed is a proper assessment by a psychiatrist with experience in this field, as to your current condition, whether you still need Ritalin, and if not, the safest way to come off it.
With ANy drug, taken for ANY reason, it is not wise to continue on it for years without periodic re-assessments as to whether it is still necessary
