Heart health and MHR

What are the consequences of exceeding maximum heart rate during exercise? I am a 48 year old woman and have exercised beyond my MHR for the past year. I had not done any exercise prior to this for about 15 years.

Thank you for visiting health24.com.

You can get a heart attack if you over exert yourself. It is therefore, best to stay below your maximum heart rate.

Kind regards
