heart attack

Doc, will you advise my father who had heart attack 4 weeks back to take suppliments together with the treatment from hospital, because he is going for the operation in June, is this going to complecate things?

He needs to be careful when taking supplements as some vitamins like vit E can increase bleeding and this must rather be avoided before an operation. He should rather eat a healthy diet with 3-5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day, low fat meat (chicken without skin, lean beef), and whole wheat grain products.
