Dear Anon
Carrageenan is a type of setting agent made from seaweed and it is used to improve the texture of foods like ice cream. It should not cause problems for anyone without a seaweed allergy and is certainly not harmful as many populations eat seaweed as part of their normal diet, e.g. the Japanese.
