H1N1 influenza virus

I deal with numerous documents coming into our company.
How long does the virus survive out of the infected person' s body?
Let' s say they expel spittle onto a document and I handle it 2 hours later. Is the virus still a threat if I should lick my fingers to page through the documents?

thanks

Dear Shandre
Yes, the virus can survive on surfaces like paper for up to 12 hours. Bottom line - don't lick your fingers, and wash before you eat anything!

Ek gaan in Oktober Kanada toe. Ek wil gaan vir die gewone griepinspuiting. IS daar nog iets wat ek kan neem vir voorsorg?
