Group B Strep

Hi, what is group B strep? Does it affect my chances of falling pregnant, will it affect the fetus once pregnant and would I need to be on antibiotics during? Had thrush and they picked it up in the lab results but it has never come up in my yearly pap smears. Not pregnant, still on the pill. Just curious.

It is a bacterium carried by some women. It will not interefere with your falling pregnant. You will need antibiotics during labour to prevent transmission to the fetus..

Best wishes
