Dear Worried mom
This can be caused if you do not dry the area properly after swimming or bathing, fungal infections, or very dry skin. Try drying it very well ( even blow drying if very sensitive at the moment) and put bactroban ointment on the area until healed. Then ensure that you put lotion on his feet after he baths and that he dries well. If the area is red and scaly he may need to get antifungal medication, let your doctor have a look.
