Dear Ellen

The time that the grommet remains in position, depends on the type of grommet used.

We do recommend that they do not stay in longer than two years. Regular checks would enable you to monitor the time period.

Glue ear/ear infections in children - watch over-zealous use of antibiotics. Study done in Sweden some years ago.
