Hi Mellisa

There are blood tests that are available to determine if you dachshund has an allergy. The testing can be expensive and is usually sent to the USA. Please discuss the matter with your vet.

Kind regards

Thanks, he was diagnosed at the vet &  prrscribed lotion &  cortisone which i am not happy to keep him on long term. the vet has not been helpful in providing info on a blood test, so i was hoping someone on this forum could help.

Mellisa, dachies seem to be very susceptible to skin allergies.
If its an unsightly rash, raw or itchy a visit to the vet maybe necessary to at least get a cream/lotion to apply. Ask vet then if he can test to find out which grass is causing this.
