Question

Good or bad?

If I eat four slices of brown bread and peanut butter each day for lunch how will it effect my weight?

Also what brown bread is the best to eat? Wholewheat? And peanut butter? Low fat?

Thanks.

Dear Jaco
Eating 4 slices of brown or wholewheat bread with peanut butter should not affect your weight if you are not overweight and lead a moderately active life. This meal would provide approx. 2000 kJ which represents 20% of your daily energy intake if you are male and not wanting to lose weight and 23,8% if you are trying to lose weight. If you have 3 meals a day each meal can contain 33.3% of the daily energy you require, so the 4 slices of bread plus let's say 2 tablespoons of peanut butter are less than 33.3%.
