Gestational Diabetes

Hi Doc,

My gynae has diagnosed me with gestational diabetes. My reading this morning was 12.9, i have had the GTT test done.

I am 31 years old, 33 weeks pregnant.

He has given me a week to lower my sugar via diet, otherwise he will put me on insulin. Should he not have put me on insulin already or is 12.9 not high enough?

12.9 is high, but you don't say whether this was a fasting reading or not.
Diet can sometimes work wonders if you have been eating a lot of carbohydrate.

Best wishes
