Gender Determination

I would like to find out if there is any truth in the following. I was told that due to the fact that I suffer with anovulation due to a hormonal imbalance and increased levels of testosterone, I am unlikely to conceive a girl as the egg will reject female sperm due to these hormones? Is there any truth in that some people will only conceive a certain gender regardless of timing of intercourse etc?

If you are not ovulating you will not be able to conceive at all without help.
