Garlic okay for dogs?

hello, my dogs are being eaten by mosquito' s (quite literally) is it okay to put a little garlic in their food to void off any mozzies? please help!

My dog has gotten used to a dab of Peaceful Sleep or Tabard on her head and ears - if there are mozzies around, I put it on myself, and she comes and stands by me for her turn - seems to work ok - just don' t put it near the muzzle where they lick, it tastes awful.
