Dear Gemma
I am not quite sure what you mean when you ask if diets really make one gain weight? Do you mean normal diets or slimming diets? Anyone who is not on a slimming diet and ingests more food and thus more energy than she requires, would gain weight. If you are on a slimming diet that contain more than about 1500 kcal or 6300 kJ then you may also gain weight. So to ensure weightloss it is important to reduce your energy intake and also to increase your energy output by doing daily exercise.
