Fungus

I have this dark spots on my back and I once contacted a doctor and he said it' s fungus/ allergies which you mostly get from sharing a common bath and. Can' t I get antifungal tablets over the counter or wat kind of tablets can I use? Please help out, this things are all over my back and moving towards my tummy and they are very itchy especially in hot conditions.
