Dear Belinda

Endoscopic sinsus surgery is only reserved for adults, as children still have underdeveloped sinusses. CT scanning of such a young child should also only be considered after extensive medical management. I suggest you consult an ENT with paediatric sinus experience to help you with this problem. If a CT is required after failed medical treatment, it may only be a limited scan. The message is that sinus surgery in children is not advised as a rule , as they are still growing. Each child should be treated on an individual basis, and surgery (very limited), may only be attempted if all else fails. This should be done be an experienced surgeon in this field, but your ENT may advise you on this.
