Dear AMA
Congratulations on your pregnancy. In general foods that may cause flatulence include: legumes (dry cooked or canned beans, peas, lentils or soy products), raw onions, garlic, cucumber, sweet peppers, the cabbage family which includes broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, very high-fibre foods, very fatty foods, very spicy foods and cold drinks that contain gas. This reaction can be very individual so it may help if you keep a food diary and note down which foods cause you to develop winds and discomfort so that you can avoid them.
Enjoy your pregnancy
