Flu

My husband started comming down with the flu or a cold last night. Sore body, sore head, feels terrible, slight temperature but no runny nose. He is supposed to run a 21km marathon next week Friday 01/05/09. Is one week enough for him to get over it and recover? Will he be able to run the marathon or should he sit this one out?

Please advise your husband to not compete in the race, as the flu can take up to 10 days to subside. It is possible that he can develop a viral myocarditis with severe implications. Rather don't take this chance.
