Flaxseed oil capsules

A friend recommended that I use Flaxseed to assist with weight loss. Do they really assist or are they just supplements?

Hi N

According to the NIH (USA) According to the National Institutes of Health, there is insufficient evidence to prove this. However, flaxseed oil contains large amounts of the omega-3 fatty acid alpha linoleic acid, or ALA, which is linked to several potential health benefits. To date, there is not enough compelling evidence to suggest that flaxseed oil can facilitate weight loss.
