Fish paste

I eat a lot of fish paste (on toast for breakfast). If I buy a big container, I would scoop some into a small container, and place the big container in the ice box of an old fridge, temperature obiously around 0 deg. This seems to work quite well, and the fish paste would last around 3 weeks. Is this OK, or am I chancing my luck?

If there has not formed any mold on the fish paste, it is fine to eat it.
