First day of menstruation

What is considered the first day of menstruation?
I am trying to track my cycle by taking my BBT every morning.
On Sunday afternoon I noticed bleeding (not enough to fill a pad, but a significant amount), and on Monday the " full flow"  started.
Should I jot Sunday as the first day or Monday?
If temperatures make any difference, on Monday my BBT was 36.0 degrees and Tuesday (today) it dropped by 0.2 to 35.9 degrees.
