Non-animal hyaluronic acid fillers (NASHA) have a variable longevity in the skin and is dependent on the type of filler used, where the filler is placed (dermal or just above periosteum or bone) and the patient’s rate of metabolic breakdown of the filler used. As a rough guideline NASHA fillers in the eye are last between 6 to 12 months and with repetitive injections start to last for 12 to 18 months due to collagen stimulation.
Please note that according to international medical aesthetic and cosmetic guidelines, the placement of filers in the peri-orbital area (around the eye), should only be performed by experienced doctors with specific training of fillers in this area.
