Fibromyalgia &  Spastic colon

Hi Doc,
My daughter has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia &  a spastic colon. I''ve been reading up on both subjects and must agree that he must be right as she is showing most of the symptoms described.
My concern however is that she has lost so much weight and I am really getting scared now. She has lost 30kg''s in 4 months. She used to weigh 89kg - very heavy for a 19 year old. She currently weighs 60kg and she is beginning to look anorexic.
She is not eating properly, she says because she can''t face food, it makes her ill. What should I do?

Hallo J
I think you have reason to be concerned as neither fibromyalgia nor a spastic colon will cause so much weight loss. She needs a multidisciplinary evaluation - I would seriously consider having her evaluated for underlying depression by a psychiatrist, get a gastroenterologist opinion, and ask a physician to look for possible auto-immune diseases that could cause fibromyalgia symptoms. Please let me know how she is doing?
