Dear Romola,

Fibromyalgia is a condition that usually gets treated by Rheumatologists and they may use various drugs including Cortisone. Orthopedic surgeons like myself does not really manage the condition as it never requires surgery. What I can recommed is that you see a Rheumatologist but just make sure that the diagnosis is Fibromyalgia and not seperate conditions like arthiritis of the joints, etc

Best regards,

Dr Joe de Beer
