fertility

I recently went for a test called HSG to check my fallopian tubes and the final answer was that the Left tube had a normal outline and was patent,in a lay mans language what does that mean? The right tube could not be seen, and they said it could be obstructed at the origin.can the prescence of uterine fibroids affect the scan fron detecting the tube.

It means that the left tube is open. Fibroids can cause compression of the tube at its junction with the uterus, so that it is not seen on HSG.

Best wishes
