Femur fracture

My husband had a side-impact car accident in which he fractured his arm, ribs &  femur. This accident was 5 months ago. He is still on crutches at present.

The bone only started growing on last month after having had a second operation during which the gap was reduced.

Our GP tested his vitamin D levels and found them to be low and has him on 50million Vitamin D twice a week.

Is there anything else we can do to accelarate bone growth? He has his own business and need to get back to work...
