Facial Marks

I''m female, 47 and I have these brown marks on my face (where one''s tears would normally run) They are dark and very noticeable. Not the same as rings under the eyes. What causes them and what can I do about them. I don''t like using heavy make up to " hide"  things.

Hallo Sharlene
It may be melasma caused by hormones (common after pregnancy or with using the contraceptive pill)A dermatologist can treat this with laser, skin resurfacing with chemical peels or prescription creams like tretinoin cream (Retin A) Please avoid over the counter skin-lighteners as this can actually aggravate the hyperpigmentation.
