Facial Irritation and Dryness + Oiliness

I am 24 years old, and have never really had any bad cases of acne or other skin conditions. However, for the last 6 - 8 months I have suffered from acute redness (spots) in the centre of my forehead, spreading outwards, as well as swelling and redness on and around my nose. Within the red area on both my nose and forehead, my skin is extremely dry and flakey, and even after daily washing and moisturizing it consinues to flake and peel off. I have not consulted a dermitologist as yet, and wish to hear your diagnosis.
