Dear Allergic
If you have been using Evening Primrose oil to treat your eczema and it is working then this is wonderful. The basic problem in most western diets is that people have very high omega-6 intakes from eating margarine and edible oils which are rich sources, but because they don't eat lots of fatty fish (tuna, salmon, sardines, etc which are rich sources of omega-3),the so-called omega-6: omega-3 ratio which should be about 4:1, tends to be 20 or more to 1. This imbalance can cause other problems such as heart disease, etc. Thus it is a good idea to make sure that your omega-6:omega-3 ratio is balanced by also ingesting more omega-3 (via the diet or by using salmon oil capsules).
