Epidural with Spondolythesis?

Hi. A few years ago I had a x-ray done on my back and they said i have grade 1 spondolythesis (spelling) I have terrible back ache, especially when I wake up and if I bend down for long periods of time. I am not sure if it has escalated to grade 2, I hope not. Are there any risks with having an epidural with this problem? Are my chances of being paralyzed more than others? Will it be safe for me to give natural birth with this problem, I am a slim woman.

The epidural should not have had any detrimental effect and you should be able to cope with a normal childbirth. Do however be guided by your obstetrician. Chiropractic care may also assist in diminishing your backache - I would recommend that new x/rays be taken at this stage before embarking upon any treatment.
