Q.

endometrioses

hi all, i was recently diagnosed with grade 3 endometriosis and a 7cm cyst. I wernt to see gynae because of a consistent pelvic pain and not having falling pregnant in 3years. Now my question is:
My last period was on the 3rd of April - with the next one being due on the 30th of april. To date I have not had my periods ie 9 days overdue. I went in for a laparoscopy on the 17th of April but started bleeding 3 days after the operation for 4 days. Was this my periods or bleeding due to the operation? If it was my periods then it means my cycle was only about 16days long. Is this possible?? Can endo totally mess with your cycle. Prior to being diagnosed and having the operation my cycle was always +/-28days. Thanks for the help

@Jules the first doctor who did my IVF didnt pick up my endo but he did laparoscopy just to check that was in 2008 then in 2010 went to another one just to check what is really a problem thats when i found out about my endo and after it there was no period pain,no pain during sex and he said that is why my IVF failed of which my FS didnt have an answer as to why the inmplantation didnt take place

Yep it is scary stories....

:-) thank guys yes did a bit of baby dancing after op, but then my periods could then still be coming...think im gonna wait it out another week or so and see what happens. all very confusing.  -)
Sunshine - Im reading scary stories on Endo. Why did you have to have 2 laps? Dr said my insides were so " stuck"  together that there was no way that I would have fallen preggies.
When were you diagnosed?

I agree, the changes are very slim, but I was wondering if you didn''t maybe conceive after the operation and bleeding.

Hi Jules

I think Bee Sting is asking if you not preggies because we all thinking that you have been TTCing.

But if you have not then it might not be possible.

Hi, thanks for the replies. No, I havent done a test yet, but really cant see how I could be preggies, keeping in mind that I did " bleed"  a few days after the op. If I was preggies then surely I wouldnt have bled?
AND surely the dr would have seen that Im preggies when he did the internal scan prior to me going for the op???

Hi there Jules,

Welcome :)

I also think that it could be related to the laparoscopy.

Have you taken a pregnancy test as yet, as you are 9 days overdue?

Hi Jules

Okay I have never been diagnosed with Endo and never had a Laparoscopy myself.

But if I can give my two cents worth of my analysis of the situation. To me it sounds like the bleeding could have been from the Laparoscopy itself and not your actual period.

why Not call you Gynea and let them know whats going on and they can advise you.
