Emotions and men

Hi

CS you made a comment in one of your replies about men not handling emotional displayes too well (or something like that).

Why is that - why can men not handle emotions from women or themselves?

Don't the have emotions or are they just logical and action orientated.

Thanks

Oh, they have the emotions all right. They may to some extent be more oriented towards intellectual / logical approaches, but above all it is upbringing and cultural expectations that probably dominate. The Big Boys Don't Cry culture, that tends to encourage girls to express and be aware of their more tender emotions, and to encourage boys to ignore these and at least to try hard not to show them to anyone else

Flower, there is a third possibility, that men are brought up to suppress rather than show and explore their emotions.
